Markus Huth - Without a Plan Through Kyrgyzstan

Yurt with Wi-Fi

Job gone, wife gone – as Markus Huth sees it, not running away from your problems is rubbish. When a friend suggests they travel to Kyrgyzstan he is immediately all for it. After all, what is more obvious than fleeing to the end of the world?

Huth, however, hasn't a clue what he is letting himself in for. A taxi driver sells him to a hotel owner; he ends up in a town where the only cars driven are Audi 100; he has to play table tennis against a Kyrgyz team, he fears the Taliban. And then there's this damned horse. Yet in the end he does not want to leave. A wild adventure on the other side of the planet, where East and West, Sovietism and modernity meet.

For the readers of Couch Surfing in Iran.
