Hans-Jürgen Jakobs, born in 1956, is an economist and one of Germany's most renowned economic journalists. He has worked for the Spiegel and been in charge of the online edition of the Süddeutsche Zeitung city desk. Since 2013 he has been active in various functions for the Handelsblatt publishing group and was the Handelsblatt chief editor until 2015.
