Hans Joachim Schellnhuber (Author)

Hans Joachim Schellnhuber is the founder and director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Research and professor of theoretical physics at Potsdam University. He is a member of a number of German and international scientific committees, such as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, and, as chairman, the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU). He is also a member of the National Academy of Sciences in the USA and, among others, professor at the Santa Fe Institute. Schellnhuber was director of the Tyndall Centre and is Commander of the British Empire (CBE). He has written more than 40 scientific books and, with Stefan Rahmstorf, co-authored the book Climate Change.
