Walter Moers - The Book Dragon

The Booklings are back!

There is an ancient story being told in the catacombs of Bookholm. It is about the powerfully eloquent dragon Nathaviel that has never ever been seen by any of the Booklings. Nathaviel is said to consist of nothing but books seeped in the mysterious power of the Orm. Legend has it that the book dragon is the epitome of erudition and has the right answer to every question.

One day, the little Bookling Yarnspinner Two, named after the Zamonian writer Optimus Yarnspinner, sets off along the road to Orm Swamp, where the dragons are said to dwell. For this test of courage he has to leave his beloved home, the Leather Grotto, for the very first time. He ventures into parts of the catacombs positively abound in dangerous beasts such as the dastardly Bookhunters. But what he does not realise is that the greatest danger threatening him will be from the book dragons themselves.

"As do all books by Walter Moers, this one as well gushes with almost childish entusiasm for puns, and the great love of language."
