Rainer Oberthür, born in 1961, is among the best-regarded religious educators in the German-speaking world. A lecturer on religious education and the deputy head of the Catechetical Institute of the Diocese of Aachen, he also took on a post as lecturer at the University of Wuppertal in 2008.
