Mechthild Lanfermann - They Who Can Sleep Peacefully

When it turns dark in Berlin, you are alone with your fear…

Berlin at the height of summer. No sooner has radio reporter Emma Vonderwehr offered to help out as a crime reporter than her instinct for tricky crime cases comes to life again. A prostitute has been found strangled on Alexanderplatz. An elderly down-and-out is to be held responsible for the crime. When Emma interviews the dead girl's friend in court, she immediately notices that she seems to be frightened of something.

Emma begins doing some research in the streetwalking scene and finds herself facing drugs, violence and the daily struggle for survival on the streets. But there seems to be something very different behind the girl's death…
