Ulrike Sosnitza - Orange Blossom Year

The end and the beginning are sometime as close together as the blossoms and fruits on an orange tree

Her husband's death reveals a secret Nelly would never have expected. She can no longer put up with the confines of village life in the Odenwald forest, and when her friend Mona suggests she come and work in her pharmacy in Munich she decides to do just that. City instead of village, and although she has had enough of love, the men swarm round her like bees round a honey pot. Her children, however, find it difficult to come to terms with the many changes in their mother's life. Yet Nelly finds Gabriel, cake baker and hot-air ballooner, particularly attractive.
