Heidi van Elderen - Murder in Portuguese

Charming, witty and quite simply unputdownable

A small village in Portugal: As every year at Christmas, Fernando, the oldest son of the family and the village policeman, has to kill a pig. This time, however, he cannot bring himself to do it, for Raquel is super cute and Fernando has grown terribly fond of her. And so without further ado he promotes her to being Portugal's first police pig – very much to the horror of the entire police station.

But then a woman falls from the cliffs while fishing. Was it an accident? Or perhaps even murder? Fernando is determined to solve the case and demonstrate Raquel's skills – for it is only with a successful investigation to her name that Raquel will be able to stay in the police force. Otherwise she'll be off to the slaughtering block …
