An unusual love story between India and Europe
Darjeeling in the 1930s: Kathryn, a young English lady with her head full of dreams, lives on her father's tea plantation. She is delighted when two travellers from Germany come to stay: attractive Gustav, who is aiming to establish some contacts for his tea trading business, and his best friend Carl, who is on the lookout for a new species of rhododendron and who sees Kathryn as a soul mate. Against all opposition, she follows the young men on their dangerous expedition to the Himalayas, and during the journey she realises who her heart belongs to. But her father's plantation is on the verge of ruin, and in Germany war breaks out …
