Eric Wrede - The End

A young man drops out of his previous life in order to change burials

Death. It comes to all of us at some stage. But who knows about dying, burials and grief? It is never explained to us. In the worst case, the Church and the funeral industry present themselves as guardians of a "culture" from which they themselves benefit most.

Eric Wrede used to be a music manager and became an undertaker. His aim is to bring about changes in the established culture of grief and mourning. He goes along with people on their last journey, free of conventions. In his book he uses many examples from his work to show what alternatives there are.

"Wrede represents a new kind of burial culture, one which brings to the fore the humane and a natural handling of death."
