You and me and always the sea

When Hamburg pastry chef Ella Altenburger's husband leaves her, her best friend, Maggie, suggests that Ella and her twin daughters should spend a few weeks in the holiday home of Maggie's parents on Fire Island. The last time Ella was on the island off New York she was a teenager. She is now thirty-six and again taken by the charm of the place.

The charm disappears into thin air, however, when she bumps into Nathan Goodman: Maggie's elder brother, an acclaimed star chef, has taken up lodgings in the holiday home and his welcome of Ella and her children is anything but friendly. It is only gradually that the fronts between Ella and Nathan soften. With his delicious cuisine he finally wins over Ella's heart again who already as a teenager was in love with him. Will her wounded heart be able to bear another disappointment? Or has she found a place under a lucky star this time?
