Lives apart – two sisters in Berlin during the Cold War
Twins Emma and Alice were torn apart while fleeing from East Prussia in 1945. They each think the other hasn't survived. Emma grows up in West Berlin, Alice in a home in East Germany.
It is not until twelve years later that they unexpectedly find each other again. Through Emma, Alice gets to know the East Berlin physicist Julius Laakmann.
