Cornelius Pollmer - Somehow It's a Funny Day Today

A journey of discovery inspired by Fontane – refreshing, unconventional and fast-paced

An adventure can begin anywhere, even if it is only at the bus stop in the northwest corner of Brandenburg. What happens to a guy who lets himself drift from one place to the next? With nothing but a backpack, a copy of Theodor Fontane's Walks Through The Mark Brandenburg and faith in every new day?

Cornelius Pollmer spends a summer on a world trip in eastern Germany. It takes him to a beer bar and village youth in the Spreewald and to nobility in a posh hotel for dogs. He meets hackers and wedding parties and an almost 90-year-old captain grieving for the sea. Some of the days are uneventful, others are packed with encounters, conversations, happenings.

A country road movie somewhere between Fontane and Tschick.
