"Being threatened by enemies? All you need is a load of manure."

The Haystack Scoundrels are in a state of excitement: They are at last going to visit Alfons and Marius in Berlin. But no sooner have they arrived than there is trouble, for they are staying in the villa belonging to Marius's parents and this is bang in the middle of the territory of Kalle and his City Gang. It goes without saying that the Scoundrels are a thorn in their side and that the urban louts waste no time in picking a quarrel with them: as a warning they spray an unmistakable message on the house wall and make the pool foam over with washing powder. The Scoundrels obviously cannot let matters rest there and get their revenge with a Scoundrel plan in the good old farming tradition!

• As saucy as Nicholas and as idyllic as The Six Bullerby Children
